About the AFCCA
The Alberta Family Child Care Association is an affiliation of contracted family day home agencies in the province. The association was incorporated in January 1989 and has been engaged in promoting the health and well being of children and families every since. As an affiliate of the Canadian Child Care Federation the association is involved in national efforts to promote standards and equity in the child care field. Provincially the association seeks to be a voice for families in developing standards that support quality child care. Two recent notable projects are the creation of the Family Child Care Consultant’s Resource Guide with its accompanying mentor program and the highly successful Family Child Care Professional Conference held annually. Members of the association give of their time on a volunteer basis to further the vital work of advancing the quality of child care in the day home sector.
